Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. Also, she sings. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. After entering a ninth-grade school audition in which she received praises for her voice and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. The experience not only helped her gain confidence but changed the direction she was heading in her the future. At 22 she was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 years old, she launched her journey on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 she made her film debut in You've received mail. Her biggest break came with the role of The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the first Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her role. The following year, she joined the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. The actress is also a renowned performer and has released an extended play. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate to promote LGBT equality.
