Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is a American R&B/Soul musician and singer. The singer has received numerous awards including a Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nomination for an Academy Award. Andra Days is a strong performer who writes beautifully. Not only is she a specialist in retro R&B but her origins are in gospel jazz and blues. With her debut, Cheers to The Autumn (2015) she made it into the Top Ten R&B/hip hop charts and earned a few Grammy nods. In 2017, her work on Marshall's music was recognized with the Academy Award. Amen (2018), the song Make Your Troubles go Away (2020) and her Golden Globe winning portrayal of Billie Holiday (The United States against. Billie Holiday 2021) All of these have contributed to the excitement for her next album. Andra Day is born Cassandra Monique Batie, in Edmonds Washington. She grew in San Diego and the metropolitan region. She sang in churches and enrolled in The School of Creative and Performing Arts. As she grew up and listened to music of the present, she was a fan of contemporary R&B music, and later pop. But her soul was always drawn to classical jazz and soul singers. Kai Millard Morris recorded a concert of Day which she later shared with her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's music. The Motown legend then became acquainted Day with veteran of the music industry Adrian Gurvitz. Day was a part of Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, grew a following on YouTube before signing with Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut track Forever Mine. DJs quickly played it on radio. The singer then was signed to Warner Bros. Records. Adrian Gurvitz recorded her debut album Cheers in the fall of. The album included the single Rise Up which became an iconic song of social justice campaigns worldwide. Day was nominated for two Grammy Awards which included Best R&B Album. She came out with The United States Vs. Billie Holiday in 2019, an album that explores the life and work of the jazz icon Billie Holiday. In the same year, she appeared in a biopic of Holiday's story, The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Mathichak was born in the US. Her career began in television shows like Orange Is the New Black and 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her first film role was as Allyson in the horror series Halloween. Andi Matichak was an American actress, was born in Framingham in Massachusetts on the 3rd of May 1994.
